At their April gathering, the United Methodist Women heard from employees at Crossroads Community Services, a program in downtown Dallas that works to improve the lives of our homeless and impoverished neighbors. The Crossroads employees told us they often have to turn away clients who need socks or underwear because they do not have enough of these important items - items which every single one of us will need at some point. Our Lakewood UMW hopes to help address this lack of supplies. From now through April 30, we will sponsor a drive to collect socks and underwear for the clients of Crossroads Community Services. Please bring new socks and underwear for men, women, and children. Items collected can be left in the church office during the week, or dropped off near the elevator on Sunday mornings. For more information, contact Eva in the church office at email@example.com.
